Italy – Land of the Green, Red and White

Italy was hectic, but the food was good to me. At least amidst the tourist rush, long lines, crowds and confusing transportation there were familiar dishes and flavours. The green red and white of the insalata capresa, and similar dishes, blend three amazing flavours that never seem to fail. The most beautiful salad shown with the pesto (top photo) was enjoyed on my first night in Italy, in downtown Rome, the other on a wooden plate in Florence, and the bruschetta in a Medieval village in Chianti.

Another post later about the wine tour I went on is coming! I also threw in a photo of me at Trevi fountain for good measure. A walking night tour of Rome was incredible!

Coming soon: gelato, truffle pasta, and of course… wine and pizza!
